The VLF-6022CM(F) tester generates sinusoidal AC voltages at very low frequencies (0.1 Hz, 0.05 Hz, 0.02 Hz). VLF AC testing is preferred over traditional DC testing because it does not damage intact cable insulation and does not introduce harmful space charges into polymer cable insulation. This model is widely used to measure voltage withstand during installation acceptance tests and preventive maintenance tests in accordance with industry standards such as IEEE 400.2-2013.
